Tom Ellard - Partner
Tom leads a multifaceted practice at the Paradigm Group encompassing Project Management, Communications & Government Relations, Information Technology, Safety, and Change Management. He has held significant positions such as Senior Vice President at St. Barbara / Atlantic Gold and Director of Project Management at Goldcorp, among others. Tom also developed a deep understanding of every stage of mine development, from exploration to operations and beyond into care and maintenance, underscores his comprehensive understanding of the sector. Additionally, he has participated in multiple billion dollar transactions.
Tom began his career in management consulting and traversed various industries including banking, insurance, technology, and franchise retail optimization. He has expertise in organizational design and change management. His leadership experience began while serving as an Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve and was honored with the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal by Parliament. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto and a Master’s degree from the Royal Military College of Canada. Tom is a member of the PMI and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2005.
John Hill - Partner
John leads the Human Resources practice at The Paradigm Group where he collaborates closely with business leaders to grasp their unique business needs, ensuring the seamless operation of existing processes while facilitating growth initiatives. He excels in enhancing Human Resources service delivery by fostering the development of HR staff, refining HR business processes, and leveraging technology to streamline operations and minimize inefficiencies. He is a trusted advisor and coach who he helps business leaders to align business objectives with talent strategies to ensure the delivery of strategic objectives efficiently and effectively.
John began his journey in leadership within the Canadian Armed Forces and subsequently held significant roles at industry leading Canadian companies with extensive operations around the globe such as Barrick Gold Corporation, ShawCor, Sun Life Financial. His recent experience has focused on start-up entrepreneurial companies. John holds a BA from Carleton University and a Post Graduate Certificate in Human Resources from the University of Toronto. He is an active member of the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario and holds the designation of Certified Human Resources Lead.
